The Future is Ours
One Simple Fact
Jonathan Ive, the Man behind Apple’s current industrial design achievements, paying tribute to Steve Jobs at Apple’s remembrance event.
Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is everything around that you call life was made up by people who were no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.
We all — in the end — die in medias res. In the middle of a story. Of many stories.
Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow.
“In Dedication: Thank You, Steve” - AzRmusic

Apple’s original “Think Different” advertisement featuring Steve Jobs as the narrator.
It never aired.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement Speech
If you have never seen this, it is one of the most humbling graduation addresses I’ve ever seen. This man was brilliant beyond description.
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.
There’s always the hope that if you sit and watch for long enough, the beach ball will vanish and the thing it interrupted will return.
Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition because they somehow already know what you truly want to become.
- Steve Jobs
I used this quote as part of my high school graduation speech. I remember my friends making fun of me for being an Apple fanboy (not disagreeing with that). Since I can remember, Steve Jobs has been the person I looked to for inspiration. He was an enigma in a technological cesspool. He defined and defied conventions across multiple industries. His legacy will not be forgotten, regardless of what happens to Apple in the next year or decade.
He was different. But that’s precisely what made him great.
RIP Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011.
